NASHVILLE – The Crimson Tide women's basketball team will face its second road opponent this week, as Alabama meets Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2:02 p.m. CT. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network, with Tiffany Greene and Steffi Sorensen on the call.
The Crimson Tide is 11-10 this season, including 2-8 in the Southeastern Conference and 1-4 in SEC road games. Alabama will look for its first win in February and its seventh straight win over Vanderbilt, a rebranded women's basketball program, which is now under the helm of seven-time national champion, Shea Ralph.
Alabama is coming off a loss to the top-ranked team in the nation South Carolina, 83-51, Thursday. Brittany Davis scored double digits for the 19th time this season with 20 points. It marked her sixth 20-plus scoring game of the season and her fourth in the last six games. JaMya Mingo-Young flirted with her fourth double-double of the season on nine points and 11 rebounds, which marked her fourth double-digit rebounding game of the season.
Since the conference schedule began, Davis has led the team in scoring average (15.7) and in rebounding average (6.9). Mingo-Young follows with 11.1 points per game, while Abrams adds 9.7 points per game.
