NEW ORLEANS –– The Alabama women's tennis team (5-0) handed Tulane (3-1) its first loss of the season, as the Crimson Tide battled for a 4-3 victory at the City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans. The win was the fifth consecutive team victory for Alabama.

The Match

Tulane opened the match with the first win in doubles play, but Alabama battled to take wins on court three and one, respectively, for the doubles point
Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak recorded the team's first doubles win with a 6-2 score on court three over Adelaide Lavery and Brooke Theis, while Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh captured a 6-4 win on court one against Mackenzie Clark and Kristen Borland
No. 103 ranked Petra Sedlackova downed Lavery 6-2, 6-3 to start singles play but Tulane followed with wins on court one and two, respectively, to even the score at 2-2
Alabama would win back-to-back points on courts four and five to clinch the team win
Anna Parkhomenko went 6-0, 7-6 (5) against Kristen Borland on court four, while Hiser defeated Jiayun Zhu 6-1, 2-6, 6-0 on court five
