The win was the sixth dual-match victory for the Crimson Tide

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama women's tennis team captured its sixth win of the season on Friday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium as the Crimson Tide defeated Houston 6-1. Alabama moved to 6-0 on the season while Houston dropped to 1-3.

The Match

No. 32 ranked Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh jumped out to a quick start, taking a 6-2 win over Azul Pedemonti and Maria Dzemeshkevich on court one
Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko followed with a doubles win on court two to move the Tide ahead 1-0 with their 6-4 victory over Blanca Cortijo Parreno and Laura Slisane
Ola Pitak opened singles play going 6-3, 6-1 against Slisane on court two
Kasia Pitak followed her sister, downing Porreno on court six with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 decision
Parkhomenko clinched the match point with a two-set 6-1, 7-5 win on court four
A 6-2, 7-6(4) win by Sedlackova against Pedemonti on court three and a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win by Hiser over Gabriella Giraldo on court five rounded out the match

Alabama will host TCU Sunday at noon CT at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The match will serve as the team's annual Power of Pink match, an initiative started by former UA gymnastics coach Sarah Patterson to help raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
