
Alabama Track and Field Places 11 on 2022 Indoor All-SEC Teams

A total of 11 Crimson Tide men and women earned a place on the first, second and freshman All-SEC teams
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama placed 11 student-athletes on the All-Southeastern Conference Indoor Track & Field Teams the conference office announced Monday.
The All-SEC first team consists of the top finishers in each event at the SEC Indoor Championships, while the second team consists of the second and third place finishers in each event. The All-Freshman Team (one man and one women) consists of the highest freshman finisher in each event, excluding relays.
Mercy Chelangat (5,000 meters), Bobby Colantonio Jr. (weight throw) and Isaac Odugbesan (shot put) all won individual events during last weekend's SEC Indoor Championships. Chelangat won her event in an SEC Championship record time, while Odugbesan earned his third-consecutive SEC shot put title with a mark that bettered his own school record.
Hillary Cheruiyot (2nd/3000 meters), Chelsea Igberaese (3rd/weight throw), Emmanuel Ineh (3rd/long jump), Jace Jones (3rd/DMR), Eliud Kipsang (3rd/DMR), Jacob Lamb (3rd/DMR) and Gabe Serrano (3rd/DMR) all medaled on the way to earning Second Team All-SEC honors. Cheruiyot (5,000 meters) and Nadia Herring (long jump) both earned a place on the Freshman All-SEC list.
With the SEC Championships in the books, Alabama is gearing up for the NCAA Indoor Championships March 11-12 in Birmingham, Ala.
