
Crimson Tide Women’s Basketball Hosts Commodores for Senior Day Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama women's basketball team will return home to play in Coleman Coliseum for the final time this season, hosting Vanderbilt Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. CT for senior day. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus, with Eli Gold and Richard Hendrix on the call.
Alabama will be celebrating seniors Megan Abrams, Hannah Barber, Allie Craig Cruce, Brittany Davis and Taylor Sutton immediately after the game. All five senior have eligibility to return for an additional season, thanks to the NCAA's COVID-19 exception.
Tickets to the conference contest start at just five dollars. Fans can call the TIDE PRIDE/Athletic Ticket office at 205-348-BAMA.
Free parking is available to fans in the large parking lot adjacent to Coleman Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide is 14-12 this season, including 5-10 in the Southeastern Conference and 2-5 in SEC home games. The Tide has won three of its last five games, including two of its last three games.
The Crimson Tide will look for its second win over the Commodores this season, a rebranded women's basketball program, which is now under the helm of seven-time national champion, Shea Ralph. A win would mark Alabama's eighth straight win over Vanderbilt.
UA is coming off a loss to LSU, 58-50, Thursday, Feb. 24 in Baton Rouge, La. Brittany Davis led in scoring for the second straight game, while earning her fifth double-double on 18 points, including four three-point field goals, and 11 rebounds. Megan Abrams tacked on 16 points, including nine points in the third quarter, while also recording four rebounds, one block and one assist in her home state of Louisiana.
Since the conference schedule began, Davis has led the team in scoring average (17.8). Megan Abrams, who was named to the 2021-22 SEC Community Service Team last Wednesday, follows with 13.6 points per game, while Mingo-Young adds 11.2 points per game. Davis (7.1) and Mingo-Young (6.8) also lead the team in rebounding average.
Alabama is currently in 11th place in the SEC standings, good for a Wednesday, March 2 tip time at the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. A win over Vanderbilt would lock in an 11 seed. More information on seed procedures is found below.

SEC Tournament Tie-Breaker Procedures
- Teams will be seeded No. 1 through No. 14 in the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament bracket based upon the final regular season Conference standings. Teams that finished No. 1 through No. 4 in the final regular season standings shall receive a "bye" on the first and second days of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament.
- Two-Team Tie. The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken:
- Won-lost results of head-to-head competition between the two teams.
- Won-lost record of the two teams versus the No. 1 seed (and proceeding through the No. 14 seed, if necessary).
- Coin flip by the Commissioner.
- Three-Team Tie (or more). When three or more teams are tied, the following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken. If two teams remain tied after a tiebreaker provision, the two-team tiebreaker formula will be used.
- Best winning percentage of games played among the tied teams (Example: Team A is 3-1, Team B is 2-2 and Team C is 1-3 – Team A would be seeded highest, Team B second-highest and Team C lowest of the three).
- Best winning percentage of the tied teams versus the No. 1 seed (and proceeding through the No. 14 seed, if necessary).
- If two teams remain, coin flip by the Commissioner.
- If three or more teams remain, draw by the Commissioner.
