
Two Thumbs Up for Alabama Women’s Basketball’s Double Overtime Win at Texas A&M

The Crimson Tide defeated the Aggies in Bryan-College Station, Texas, 81-79
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Just three days after downing the Tennessee Lady Volunteers by double digits, the University of Alabama women's basketball team used its momentum to defeat the Texas A&M Aggies, 81-79, in double overtime in Reed Arena Sunday, Feb. 20. The Crimson Tide, who is on a two-game win streak, improved to 14-11 (5-9), while the Aggies dropped to 14-12 (4-10) in 2021-22.
The triumph marked the Crimson Tide's second straight road win in extra minutes, and its third road win in the last four road games.
Brittany Davis led the effort in scoring with a career-high 32 points on 12-of-26 from the field, including 7-of-15 from the arc. She added six rebounds and one steal.
The senior's scoring effort came after going 1-of-10 from the field in the first half, scoring just three points in the first 20 minutes of action. She followed that up with 21 points in the second half and eight points in overtime.
Megan Abrams scored 26 points on 9-of-23 shooting and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. The veteran added eight rebounds, three steals and an assist. JaMya Mingo-Young added a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds, while recording four assists and a pair of steals. Hannah Barber had 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and a steal.
Alabama paced Texas A&M for less than 12 minutes in the game, but attempted to take control in the second half to force an overtime. The Crimson Tide and the Aggies were all squared, 7-7, in the first overtime, but outscored the Aggies, 9-7, in the second overtime.
The Crimson Tide shot 41.1 percent on 30-of-73 shooting, including 10-of-28 from the arc. The Tide also connected on 11 of its 19 attempts at the line. It marked the Tide's second straight game of scoring at least 10 three-point field goals.
Texas A&M outrebounded Alabama, 54-42, scoring 19 second-chance points, however the Crimson Tide forced the Aggies to commit 19 turnovers, scoring 14 points off those miscues.
