
Alabama Women’s Basketball Hosts No. 12/8 Tennessee Thursday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama women's basketball team will remain home to host No. 12/8 Tennessee Thursday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum. The contest, which will serve as its annual Greek Night and Hidden Figures game, will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus, with Roger Hoover and Richard Hendrix on the call.
Tickets to the conference contest start at just five dollars, while both single game tickets and season tickets are on sale now online or fans can call the TIDE PRIDE/Athletic Ticket office at 205-348-BAMA.
Free parking is available to fans in the large parking lot adjacent to Coleman Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide is 12-11 this season, including 3-9 in the Southeastern Conference and 1-5 in SEC home games. Alabama will look for its sixth win over Tennessee in nine matchups, but its first win in four matchups, when the two teams square off in Coleman Coliseum. The last time UA got a win over UT in the historic building, the Crimson Tide beat the Lady Volunteers, 86-65, on Jan. 17, 2019 to improve to a five-game win streak over the touted program.
Alabama is coming off a loss to Kentucky, 67-63, at home last Sunday. Despite the Crimson Tide's ability to shoot 92.9 percent from the free-throw line, outrebound and hold a lead for majority of the game against the Wildcats, it dropped it sixth game of the season by eight points or less.
The Tide's three leading scorers continued to shine in the battle, as Megan Abrams scored 21 points and grabbed four rebounds, JaMya Mingo-Young collected 16 points and 10 boards and dished out four assists, and Brittany Davis added 12 points and six rebounds. Coming off the bench, Jada Rice tacked on a big eight points, eight boards and five blocks.
Since the conference schedule began, Davis has led the team in scoring average (16.2) and in rebounding average (7.0). Mingo-Young follows with 12.3 points per game, while Abrams adds 11.1 points per game.
