Nine Alabama Football Players Combine for 11 Honors on 2022 Associated Press All-SEC Team

Will Anderson Jr. unanimously selected as the AP SEC Defensive Player of the Year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team landed nine players who combined to account for 11 honors on the 2022 Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference Team, the organization announced Monday.
Crimson Tide linebacker Will Anderson Jr. highlighted the list of UA honorees as he was the unanimous selection for the AP's SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
Anderson Jr. was one of four UA players to be included on the first team along with Emil Ekiyor Jr. (OL), Kool-Aid McKinstry (DB) and Byron Young (DL).
Five Tide players earned six second team honors from the organization with Jahmyr Gibbs getting the nod at running back and all-purpose. He was joined on the league's second team by Jordan Battle (DB), Brian Branch (DB), Will Reichard (PK) and Bryce Young (QB).
