Young Selected as Finalist for Manning Award

The junior is one of 11 finalists for the annual honor presented to the nation’s top quarterback
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was selected as a finalist for the Manning Award, the Allstate Sugar Bowl and Manning family announced on Friday morning.
The junior is one of 11 finalists for this year's award. Young, the reigning Manning Award honoree, took home the hardware following the 2021 campaign, and is joined by Mac Jones (2020) to make up the Crimson Tide's list of previous winners.
The Manning Award is presented annually to the top quarterback in college football. It is the only quarterback award that takes into account a player's performance in his team's bowl game. The 2022 winner of the Manning will be announced after all bowl games are complete in January.

- Alabama's only quarterback in program history to throw for 3,000-plus yards in two seasons, totaling 4,872 as a sophomore before accumulating 3,007 during the regular season in 2022

- Ranks second in the SEC and seventh nationally for passing touchdowns with 27
- Finished the regular season 230-of-359 passing with the 27 scores compared to five interceptions
- Added 46 rushes for 195 yards and four touchdowns on the ground
