No. 20 Alabama Welcomes Southern Illinois for Charity Exhibition Game Saturday

The Crimson Tide and Salukis will play in Foster Auditorium in front of UA students
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 20 Alabama men's basketball team will welcome Southern Illinois to Foster Auditorium for a charity exhibition game Saturday afternoon. The contest, which will be open to UA students with a valid student ID, will tip off at 2 p.m. CT and feature free giveaways, big prizes and free food as part of the preseason game.
Proceeds of the Charity Exhibition will benefit the Community Service Programs of West Alabama's Alberta Head Start Program as a social injustice initiative supporting the local community.
The Broadcast
- There will be no live stream of television broadcast of Saturday's game
- The radio broadcast can be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network with Chris Stewart (play-by-play), Bryan Passink (analyst) and Roger Hoover (sideline) on the call, while Tom Stipe (engineer) is turning the dials.
Notes You Need To Know
- The Crimson Tide enters the year ranked No. 20 in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25. Alabama begins the season ranked in the AP Preseason poll for the second straight year, checking in at No. 14 last year.
- Alabama returns five letterwinners, including Jahvon Quinerly, who will start the season on the sidelineafter sustaining an injury in the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson Tide did lose 10 letterwinners, including JD Davidson and Keon Ellis, who are currently on NBA rosters.
- Alabama welcomes the highest ranked recruiting class in the country (No. 3) in Jaden Bradley and Brandon Miller, who are McDonald's High School All-Americans, along with four-start prospects Noah Clowney and Rylan Griffen.
- The 2022-23 Crimson Tide roster features four McDonald's All-Americans. In addition to Bradley (2022) and Miller (2022), Nimari Burnett (2020) and Quinerly (2019) also earned the national honor. It is the most McDonald's All-Americans on the same roster in program history.
- In addition to the four freshmen, Alabama also added transfers Mark Sears from Ohio, Dom Welch from St. Bonaventure and Nick Pringle, who was rated as the No. 1 JUCO power forward prospect in the country.
- After having the No. 1 strength of schedule in the nation a year ago, Alabama's non-conference slate will be stacked once again as it features nine teams (out of 13 games) that played in last year's NCAA Tournament. In all, the Tide will face 10 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the preseason top-25 poll.
- Up Next: Alabama will stay in-state for its next four games as the Crimson tide will host Longwood and Liberty before hitting the road for their first contest away from Coleman Coliseum to face South Alabama. The Tide will then return home to host the reigning ASUN Regular Season Champions, Jacksonville State.
