SEC Champions!
We celebrated an SEC championship last night as our soccer team won its first regular season title, standing at 9-0 in league play with one match remaining prior to the tournament. We are so proud of our student-athletes, Coach Wes Hart and his staff for the incredible job they've done to build this program. What a crowd we had on hand both in and outside the facility to watch this team make history!
Enzo Aguiard wins ITA Southern Regional Singles Championship
Congratulations to Enzo Aguiard for winning the ITA Southern Regional Singles Championship last weekend right here in Tuscaloosa. Enzo, the tournament's No. 16 seed, beat the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 seeds en route to the crown and will now head to the ITA Fall National Championships in San Diego next week.
Rowing Hosts Head of the Black Warrior
Our rowing team will close out the fall portion of its schedule on Saturday, Oct. 29, hosting the Head of the Black Warrior River. First race is scheduled for 9 a.m. Great view for fans to take in all the action from the Park at Manderson Landing!
Basketball Season Just Around the Corner
We are 14 days away from tipping off the regular season for our men's and women's basketball teams here in Coleman Coliseum! The women will get the night started at 5 p.m. against Alabama A&M, and the men will follow with a 7:30 p.m. tip against Longwood. Tickets are on sale for both teams now and can be purchased by contacting the Alabama Ticket Office.
Our men's team will also host a student-only charity exhibition contest in Foster Auditorium on Saturday, Oct. 29 against Southern Illinois. Proceeds will benefit the Community Service Programs of West Alabama's Alberta Head Start Program.
Baseball Splits Exhibition Games with Mississippi State
Our baseball team played a pair of seven-inning games on Friday night against Mississippi State, splitting the contests 1-1. In the first game, we recorded a 7-3 win while game two went to the Bulldogs, 4-0. Coach Brad Bohannon's squad will head to Auburn later this week for its final exhibition matchup of the fall to take on the Tigers on Friday at Plainsman Park.
Softball Takes Two on Sunday
Softball also continued its fall season over the weekend, recording a pair of exhibition wins over Copiah-Lincoln, 2-0 and 17-0. Three more games remain on the Fall Ball schedule for Coach Murphy's team, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 29 against Wallace State (2 p.m.) and Birmingham-Southern (4 p.m.).
Cross Country Set for the Postseason
After closing their regular season by sweeping the Crimson Classic, taking both team and individual titles, Coach Dan Waters and our men's and women's squads open the postseason this Friday at the Southeastern Conference Championships in Oxford, Miss. Both teams are ranked in the top-25 nationally with the women ranked first and the men second in the SEC. We're excited to see what they can accomplish this week!

University Spotlight
What a wonderful Homecoming we just had here at the Capstone. The committee does such a great job putting on events throughout the week to welcome back our alumni, family and friends. We were thrilled to have so many in attendance from Sylvester Croom, to our 1992 national championship football team, to Joe Namath and Lillie Leatherwood as the Grand Marshal of the Homecoming parade.
