Ozzie Newsome to Represent Alabama in 2022 SEC Football Legends Class
Congratulations to Ozzie Newsome on his inclusion in the 2022 SEC Football Legends Class. A well-deserved honor for a legendary man! We look forward to formally celebrating him in Atlanta as part of the SEC's Weekend of Champions Dec. 2-3.
Cross Country Comes Homes
On Friday, our cross country teams – the No. 6 women and No. 22 men – will host the Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett Running Park. It will mark our first home cross country meet in five years, meaning that Friday will be the first time anyone on our current rosters has raced over the Harry Pritchett course. The men's 8-kilometer race starts at 8:30 a.m. CT, while the women toe the line at 9:20 a.m.
Swimming and Diving Opens Home Slate Saturday
After getting 2022-23 started with wins on the road at the end of September, our men's and women's swimming and diving teams will open their home slate Saturday against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The action gets rolling in the Alabama Aquatic Center at 10 a.m. Our women are looking for their second SEC win of the season after downing Arkansas in Fayetteville, while the men, who opened the season with a win at Delta State, begin league competition with the Gamecocks.
Several Other Sports in Action on Campus this Week
In addition to cross country and swimming and diving competing in their first home events in Tuscaloosa, we have volleyball, men's tennis, softball and soccer in town this week. Volleyball is set to take on Missouri on Wednesday and Alabama State on Friday with both starting at 6 p.m. Softball welcomes Georgia Tech for a Saturday doubleheader as part of its fall ball schedule, while men's tennis will be in action across the parking lot hosting the ITA Southern Regional Championships Thursday through Tuesday. Finally, our No. 4-ranked soccer team continues SEC play on Sunday against Arkansas at 11 a.m.
Baseball Hosts Mississippi State in Fall Exhibition
Before our football team meets up with the Bulldogs at Bryant-Denny, our baseball team will hosts Mississippi State in a fall exhibition matchup, Friday, Oct. 21 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. The exhibition with State will be the first of two for the Tide during the fall as we will travel south a week later on Friday, Oct. 28 to take on Auburn at Plainsman Park. First pitch between the Tide and Tigers is set for 6:30 p.m.
Ghosts and Goblins
Oct. 21 also marks the date of our gymnastics team's annual Ghosts and Goblins intrasquad. The event will be held in the gymnastics practice facility with the doors opening at 2:15 p.m. It will be a chance for our fans to get a first look at this year's team and take part in an early Halloween costume party with prizes.
Commemorative Tickets
With the shift from paper tickets to mobile ticketing, we know that many of our fans miss having a physical reminder of their favorite Crimson Tide games. We are excited to offer a way to commemorate your experience at Bryant-Denny Stadium with a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Commemorative tickets can be customized with your gate number, section, row, and seat, so you'll never forget your gameday experience. At the conclusion of the season, we will also have a season ticket sheet option for season ticket holders.
The Authentic at Bryant-Denny Stadium Opens its Doors
After several months of planning, we, along with Fanatics, officially opened the doors on The Authentic at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the first-ever retail team store focused on selling officially licensed team apparel and student-athlete NIL merchandise. Lots of work by so many to make this happen, and all worth it after seeing how well-received it has been. As a reminder, the store is open during the week, not just game days. As of right now, hours are as follows:
Home Football Game Weeks (CT)
Monday – Thursday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday (pregame): 10 a.m. – 3.5 hours prior to kickoff (will not open pregame for 1 p.m. or earlier kickoffs)
Saturday (gates open/postgame): 2.5 hours prior to kickoff – 1 hour postgame
Sunday: Closed
Non-Home Football Game Weeks
Monday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
On football home game days, the store can be accessed from the street entrance on Paul W. Bryant Drive, which is located on the south side of Bryant-Denny Stadium by Gate 34. At 3.5 hours prior to kickoff, the store will be closed from the street-side entrance and will only be accessible to those with a game ticket once gates open 2.5 hours before kickoff. Fans looking to make their way to The Authentic from inside the stadium should follow the directional signage, which leads to the entrance on Level 1 behind section S-4. For those on the upper levels, utilize the elevator near section U4-AA to take down to the first level.
