All five winter teams reached NCAA postseason competition
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A total of 56 Alabama student-athletes were named to the Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced.
Five members of the Crimson Tide's Sweet 16 men's basketball team earned academic recognition. Labaron Philon Jr. highlighted the group as a consensus Third Team All-American. On the women's side, seven basketball players were honored following a standout season that featured consistent top 25 national rankings and the program's fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last six year as SEC All-Conference honorees Jessica Timmons and Karly Weathers paced the contingent.
Among the academic recipients were 34 student-athletes from the Alabama men's (16) and women's (18) Swimming & Diving programs. SEC Scholar-Athlete Emily Jones highlighted the group as she joined fellow All-Americans Tommy Hagar, Tim Korstanje, Charlotte Rosendale, Gaby Van Brunt and Cadence Vincent. Both teams concluded an impressive season with top-25 finishes at the NCAA Championships.
Alabama gymnastics contributed 10 student-athletes to the list, following the program's 44th consecutive NCAA regional appearance. Alabama finished its 2026 campaign as one of only two teams nationally to score above 197.000 in every meet. Highlighted among the squad was two WCGA All-Americans in Kylee Kvamme (second team) and Chloe LaCoursiere (first team).
To be eligible for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have completed at least one full academic year at their respective institution.
Alabama now has 185 SEC Academic Honor Roll selections for the 2025-26 academic year, with additional honorees to be recognized following the spring and first-year academic lists.
