The Crimson Tide defeated the Blazers 6-1 and the Mocs 5-2 in a home double header at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team (4-0) defeated UAB (0-3) and Chattanooga (2-1) Saturday at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. The Crimson Tide topped the Blazers 6-1 before taking a 5-2 win over the Mocs.

The wins were Alabama's third and fourth of the season. Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak led the Tide in doubles, going 2-0 on the day. Petra Sedlackova clinched the match point against both opponents as she was one of three Tide players to win a pair of singles matches, joining Loudmilla Bencheikh and Ola Pitak.

"We need matches and pressure situations to continue improving. Both UAB and Chattanooga were good, competitive matches. We're making strides in the right direction but have a lot of work to do. We'll get after it this week to prepare for our next business trip."

Against the Blazers

Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko captured a dominate doubles win on court two, defeating Alexandra da Silva and Vanessa Mellynchuk 6-1
Kasia Pitak and Ola Pitak followed with a 6-2 doubles performance on court three against Adela Wasserbauervoa and Jana Hecking for the doubles point
In singles play, Ola Pitak captured the first point, dropping just one game in her 6-0, 6-1 win over Wasserbauerova at No. 2
Parkhomenko moved the score to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mellynchuk on court four as Sedlackova clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win against Sydney Clark on court three
Additionally, Bencheikh defeated Jana Hecking 6-3, 6-3 on court one, while Anne Marie Hiser defeated Maggie White 6-3, 6-4 on court five

Battling the Mocs

Hiser and Bencheikh gave the Tide the advantage with a 6-3 win over Callie Billman and Jessie Young at No. 1 doubles before Kasia Pitak and Ola Pitak battled their way to a 7-5 win over Emma Van Hee and Coco Bosman at No. 2 doubles
Bencheickh followed with a decisive 6-2, 6-1 win over Nicole Abel on court one as Ola Pitak posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Young on court two
Sedlackova clinched the match moments later, going 6-3 in the opening set against Caroline Gibbens before posting a dominate 6-0 victory in set two for the win
Kasia Pitak added a win on court five, securing a three-set 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Coco Bosman
