TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama women's basketball team had no answer for Arkansas' explosive shooting night, as the Crimson Tide lost to the Razorbacks, 99-71, inside Coleman Coliseum Thursday. The Crimson Tide dropped to 10-8 (1-6), while the Razorbacks improved to 12-6 (1-4).
For the first time this season, two Alabama players scored 20 points or more in a single game. JaMya Mingo-Young paced the group with 22 points on an impressive 10-of-13 from the field, including 2-of-3 from long range. She tacked on five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes of action. Brittany Davis scored 20 points, her fourth 20-point game of the season. The senior knocked down five 3-pointers, adding eight rebounds and a couple of assists to her stat line.
From Head Coach Kristy Curry
"Just on a night like tonight you have to credit Arkansas. As far their balance across scoring, you know, they hit 15 3-pointers and I thought we had hands up at times. It was just one of those nights where I thought you just credit them, pick yourself up and you hit the reset button at midnight. We've just got to get ready for Auburn."
