
In-State Battle: Alabama Hosts Auburn Sunday at 4 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama women's basketball team returns to Coleman Coliseum for the first time in 20 days, hosting Auburn in its Southeastern Conference home opener on Sunday, Jan. 2 at 4 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network, with Same Gore and Tamika Catchings on the call.
Tickets to the in-state battle start at just $5, while fans are encouraged to take advantage of the "4 for $20" ticket deal, which includes four tickets and four stadium dogs for just 20 dollars. Both single game tickets and season tickets are on sale now, or fans can call the TIDE PRIDE/Athletic Ticket office at 205-348-BAMA.
Free parking is available to fans in the large parking lot adjacent to Coleman Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide is 9-3 this season, including 0-1 in the conference and 8-1 at home. Alabama is coming off a 62-44 defeat at No. 7/9 Tennessee, its first ranked opponent of the season, in the SEC opener. Brittany Davis led the team in scoring with 12 points, as she continued her streak of double-digit scoring in 11 of 12 games this season.
Davis has led the Crimson Tide in scoring average and rebounding average all season, posting 15.5 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game. Hannah Barber is leading the effort in dishing out assists (41), while she is ranked second in the conference and third nationally in assist-turnover ratio (3.73). JaMya Mingo-Young is fourth in the league and 21st nationally in steals (33), while Jada Rice is taking care of blocked shots (19).

The Crimson Tide dropped to 9-3 (0-1), while the Lady Volunteers improved to 12-1 (1-0).
- The Crimson Tide featured balanced scoring in the conference opener, as Brittany Davis paced the team with 12 points on 5-of-19 shooting. The senior tacked on six rebounds and dished out two assists in the game. JaMya Mingo-Young also posted double-digit scoring, contributing 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting, grabbing six boards.
- The Lady Volunteers outscored the Crimson Tide, 23-12, in the first quarter, but it was the second and third quarters when the game began to tilt in the Tide's favor.
