
Alabama Football Opens 2021 Fall Camp

The Crimson Tide practiced for two hours in helmets and shorts
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football program commenced fall camp on Friday afternoon, practicing for two hours on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in helmets and shorts.
Friday’s practice opened at 2:30 p.m. CT with the entire squad taking part in drills. It marked the beginning of a series of 27 workouts for the Crimson Tide, as they prepare for the season opener against Miami (Fla.) in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game between the Tide and the Hurricanes will be televised on ABC.
Alabama returned 13 starters and 50 lettermen for the 2021 season. On offense, three starters and 23 lettermen returned, while on the defense, nine starters and 23 lettermen are back on the field, with one starting specialist returning, too.
The Tide has claimed six of the last nine Southeastern Conference Championship titles and six of the last 12 national titles. Over the last 14 seasons under head coach Nick Saban, Alabama owns a 170-23 (.881) record, including a 95-11 (.896) mark in regular season conference action.
