SCOUTING ALABAMA
- Alabama opens the 2021 season at the Marshall Invitational Aug. 27-28, facing Austin Peay, Marshall and Miami (OH)
- Following opening weekend, six of the Crimson Tide's next nine matches will come at Foster Auditorium, including its home-opening Crimson Tide Invitational Sept. 2-4
- Head Coach Lindsey Devine begins her third season at the helm in 2021
- Alabama returns nine players from last year's team while welcoming eight newcomers, including six freshmen and two transfers
- The Tide returns its top five kills producers on offense, including team-leader Abby Marjama who had 285 last season while also leading the team with 23 aces
- Alyiah Wells enters her third season after earning SEC All-Freshman honors in 2019 and leading the team with 74 blocks last season
- The schedule includes 15 home matches at Foster Auditorium, including two preseason tournaments and nine SEC contests
- Six matches are slated to air on the ESPN family of networks

- Shaye Eggleston (Fr. - OH - Brentwood, Tenn.): Two-time Tennessee Gatorade State Player of the Year and four time state champion at Brentwood High School
- Sydney Gholson (Fr. - L/DS - Keller, Texas): Three-time All-District honoree and 2017 District Champion at Keller High School
- Laila Smith (Fr. - MB - New Castle, Ind.): Three-time Indiana state champion at New Castle High School and Munciana 18s Open champion
- Sami Jacobs (Fr. - OH - Prosper, Texas): 2020 Under Armour All-American, earning over 1,000 career kills at Prosper High School
- Malia Moore (Fr. - S - Mills River, N.C.): Four-time All-Conference honoree and two-time Times News Player of the Year at West Henderson High School
- Brooke Slusser (Fr. - S - Denton, Texas): 2021 PrepVolleyball All-American and 2020 Under Armour All-American at Guyer High School
- Dru Kuck (Jr. - L/DS - Sheboygan, Wisc.): Transferred after two seasons at Kansas State, leading the Wildcats in digs (326) as a freshman
- Sarah Swanson (Gr. - MB - Elkhorn, Neb.): Played in 83 matches over four seasons at TCU, including a career best 182 kills and 91 blocks as a sophomore in 2018
2020 HIGHLIGHTS
- Alabama earned seven wins during the shortened 2020 campaign, including single wins against Georgia, LSU and Tennessee and series sweeps over Ole Miss and Mississippi State
- Abby Marjama was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and the league's overall Player of the Week on March 1, the Tide's first weekly award-winner on offense since 2016
- Key wins included the team's first road win at Georgia since 2016, its first road win at Ole Miss since 2008, its sixth- and seventh-straight wins over Mississippi State in the all-time series and its first win over Tennessee since 2017

HEAD COACH LINDSEY DEVINE
- Head Coach Lindsey Devine is in her third season at the helm of the Crimson Tide
- Devine earned her 300th career win during her debut season at Alabama, doing so with a three-set sweep over Alcorn State on Sept. 14, 2019
- She arrived at Alabama in 2019 following a successful 16-year stint at ETSU as its all-time winningest coach
- Devine led the Buccaneers to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018, the latter as the Southern Conference's first ever at-large bid
- She was twice named SoCon Coach of the Year and had 28 student-athletes earn all-conference honors during her tenure, including three Player of the Year, three Libero of the Year and two Freshmen of the Year award-winners
- Off the court, ETSU sported a 100-percent graduation rate under Devine and earned the AVCA Team Academic Award each of her last nine years, which requires at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average
