The Crimson Tide will return home for a three-game stint

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Alabama women's soccer team (1-1-0) suffered its first loss of the 2021 season, falling 4-0 to No. 1 Florida State (2-0-0) at the Seminole Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.

The first half was a defensive battle for UA as Florida State held most of the possession. An own goal off a corner kick resulted in the first goal of the match in the 20th minute of play. The second goal came in the 32nd minute as FSU's Alagoa Pereira received a pass from Lauren Flynn and fired a shot outside of the 18-yard box.

Once the second half rolled around, Alabama seemed to find a rhythm, pressing the Seminoles and gaining possession in the offensive half of the field. Alabama registered two shots but could not find the back of the net. In the 62nd minute, Florida State's Clara Robbins crossed the ball into the box, finding the foot of Beata Olsson, who captured the third goal of the match. Twenty minutes later, redshirt senior Gianna Mitchell found the ball in the penalty area to make the game 4-0.
