Alabama Soccer Faces No. 1 Florida State on Road Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team (1-0-0) will face top-ranked Florida State (1-0-0) in its first road competition of the season on Sunday. The two teams kick off at 12 p.m. CT at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.

The 2020-21 NCAA runner-up enters Sunday's match as the No. 1 team in the country, according to the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll
Florida State went 13-1-2 last season, advancing to the National Championship game where the Seminoles fell in penalty kicks to Santa Clara
Midfielders Jaelin Howell and Yujie Zhao both earned All-ACC preseason team recognition
Last season, Howell was named the ACC Midfielder of the Year and earned First Team All-America honors. She was also named the Mac Hermann Award winner.
Zhao earned All-ACC First Team honors, was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region First Team, was a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American and a College Cup All-Tournament Team selection
FSU topped No. 9 Texas A&M in its season opener with Clara Robbins putting the Seminoles on the scoreboard in the 89th minute
