The Crimson Tide practiced in shells for two hours
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Due to inclement weather, the University of Alabama football team practiced inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility Thursday afternoon. The Crimson Tide spent the two-hour practice session in shells.
The workout was the 14th in a series of 27, putting the Crimson Tide over the halfway mark through fall camp. It comes almost two weeks before the team travels to Atlanta, Ga., to square off against Miami (Fla.) for the season opener on Sep. 4. The two teams will meet inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, with the meeting set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
Before Thursday's practice, it was announced that Alabama junior linebacker Henry To'oTo'o was selected to the 2021 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award Preseason Watch List. To'oTo'o is among 63 players from 31 different FBS schools up for the award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity. Former Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa won the award in 2018 and 2019.
