Crimson Tide freshman Anna Parkhomenko was up 6-2, 4-1 at No. 3 singles against No. 12-ranked Meg Kowalski when the Bulldogs clinched the match
ATHENS, Ga. – No. 40-ranked Alabama women's tennis fell to No. 3 Georgia, 4-0, Thursday afternoon at the Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Ga. The Crimson Tide goes to 12-10 on the season, while UGA is now 15-1.
Alabama was ahead in the second sets at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles when the Bulldogs earned its fourth point, clinching the match. Anna Parkhomenko was ahead of No. 12-ranked Meg Kowakski by a score of 6-2, 4-1 at No. 3 singles. Anne Marie Hiser held a 3-1 lead in her second set against No. 61 Morgan Coppoc at No. 4 after stretching the Bulldog to a tiebreaker in the first set. After falling 6-4 in the first set, Sydney Riley was out in front of No. 96 Marta Gonzalez 5-4 in their second set.
