
Alabama Women’s Golf Selected to Compete at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional

The Crimson Tide returns to NCAA Championships for 15th consecutive season, 22nd overall
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team was one of 18 teams selected to compete at the 2021 NCAA Women's Golf Championships, it was announced Wednesday afternoon on the Golf Channel. The Crimson Tide earned the No. 6 seed at the Baton Rouge Regional, which will take place May 10-12 at the par 72, 6,340-yard The University Club.
With this year's selection, the Crimson Tide is appearing in its 15th consecutive regional under head coach Mic Potter and the 22nd regional appearance in school history. Alabama has played in an NCAA regional every season under Potter and has won four times all of which have come in the last nine years (2011, 2013, 2017, 2018).
The 18-team regional is highlighted by tournament-host and No. 1 seed LSU, who enters the event ranked No. 4 in the country, followed by No. 5 Ole Miss as the No. 2 seed. No. 15 Baylor is the No. 3 seed while No. 12-ranked Oregon earned the No. 4 position. The rest of the field included fifth-seeded Maryland, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Oregon State, No. 8 Houston, No. 9 Miami, No. 10 North Texas, No. 11 Purdue, No. 12 Mississippi State, No. 13 Tulsa, No. 14 Sam Houston State, No. 15 Kennesaw State, No. 16 East Tennessee State, No. 17 Jacksonville State and No. 18 Quinnipiac.
The top six teams and three lowest-scoring individuals not with an advancing team from each regional championship will advance to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, which will be hosted by Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. on May 21-26.
