Alabama Soccer Travels to Face No. 8 Clemson

The Tide will close the 2020-21 season on Saturday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team will face the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, April 3, at Historic Riggs Field in Clemson, S.C. The match is scheduled for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff in what will be the second meeting between the two teams in program history.
About Alabama
- Head coach Wes Hart is in the midst of his sixth season at Alabama and owns a career record of 51-50-13 entering Saturday's matchup
- The team returned seven starters and 10 letterwinners from last season's roster that finished the 2020 slate with a record of 2-5-2
- Earlier this fall, Alabama made its 13th appearance at the Southeastern Conference Tournament
Scouting Clemson
- The Tigers are on the tail end of their season, preparing for the NCAA Tournament and hold a record of 10-4-0
- Head coach Eddie Radwanski is in the middle of his 10th season with Clemson and owns a career record of 103-67-21. Radwanski is only the second coach in program history to be named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, earning the award in 2016
- The Tigers are returning 19 letterwinners for the 2020-21 season
- Clemson has been able to find the back of the net 28 times over the course of 14 games
- Midfielder Caroline Conti leads the team in points and goals, earning 17 points and seven goals on the year

- Transfer goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff has recorded 42 saves for the 2020-21 season
- Hancuff was ranked first in the ACC and sixth in the NCAA with a .884 save percentage in the fall
Last Time Out
- Alabama fell to the Auburn Tigers, 2-1, on Saturday, March 27, at the Alabama Soccer Stadium
- Defender Tanna Sanchez-Carreto notched her second goal of the season
- Midfielder Reyna Reyes captured her second assist of the year, while midfielder Kat Rogers earned her fourth assist for the 2020-21 season
- Goalkeeper McKinley Crone registered six saves for the match, which is the second highest she has posted since being at Alabama
Returning Firepower
- Two members of the 2020-21 Crimson Tide roster received postseason honors at the conclusion of the fall
- Forward Riley Mattingly was named to the Second Team All-SEC while midfielder Felicia Knox was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team
- Mattingly returned for the Tide's opening match of the spring but suffered a lower body injury that will likely keep her out for the remainder of the spring schedule
- Knox, who scored two goals for the Tide back in the fall, returned to the pitch this spring
- Midfielder Reyna Reyes got the call to practice with the Mexican Women's National Team camp earlier last month and earned her first cap with the full team during the camp
- McKinley Crone, a transfer goalkeeper, leads Alabama in minutes played and has registered 72 saves across the 2020-21 season
- Crone ranks fourth in the SEC with an average of 5.11 saves per game entering Saturday's matchup
On the National Stage
- Sophomore Reyna Reyes received her third call up this season to compete with the Mexican Women's National Team for the month of April
- The Alabama Midfielder has appeared and started in 13 games this season, registering two goals and two assists for six points
The Season Close
- Alabama will close its season on Saturday with a road match against the Clemson Tigers after the Crimson Tide's home match against Mississippi State was canceled
