Alabama Volleyball Travels for Two Matches at Texas A&M

SCOUTING ALABAMA
- Alabama (6-10) heads back on the road this weekend for a pair of matches against Texas A&M (6-4) at Reed Arena
- Last time out, the Crimson Tide swept Mississippi State in a pair of four-set wins at Foster Auditorium
- For their efforts in the wins, Madelyn St. Germain was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week while Abby Marjama earned Offensive Player of the Week and SEC Player of the Week accolades
- Following this weekend, future spring opponents include Tennessee at home (March 19-20) and Kentucky on the road (March 24-25)
LAST TIME OUT: ALABAMA VS. MISSISSIPPI STATE
- Alabama earned a pair of four-set wins last weekend in Tuscaloosa against Mississippi State
- The Crimson Tide has now won seven-straight matchups against the Bulldogs, stretching back to 2016
- In the weekend opener, Alabama applied plenty of pressure from the service line with a season-best 11 aces, with Kendyl Reaugh and Abby Marjama combining for nine of those
- The Tide hit a season-best .336 in the second match, beating the previous best of .310 in the Nov. 15 win against LSU
TIDE EARNS TRIO OF SEC WEEKLY AWARDS
- For their efforts in the two wins over Mississippi State, Madelyn St. Germain was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week while Abby Marjama was named both the Offensive Player of the Week and the league's overall Player of the Week
- Marjama led the team with 44 kills in the two wins, averaging 5.50 kills per set
- She finished with a season-high 20 kills on Friday before bettering that mark with 24 on Saturday along with a .444 hitting percentage
- Marjama added 10 digs in each match for her third and fourth double-doubles of the season
- St. Germain led the defense with 43 digs, averaging 5.38 per set
- She totaled a season-best 28 digs on Friday and was tied for the team lead with three service aces, before following with 15 digs in Saturday's win, her third-highest total of the season
- St. Germain is the team's first Defensive Player of the Week since Cidavia Hall in 2018 and Marjama the first on offense since Krystal Rivers in 2016

HEAD COACH LINDSEY DEVINE
- Head Coach Lindsey Devine is in her second season at the helm of the Crimson Tide
- Devine earned her 300th career win during her debut season at Alabama, doing so with a three-set sweep over Alcorn State on Sept. 14, 2019
- She arrived at Alabama in 2019 following a successful 16-year stint at ETSU as its all-time winningest coach
- Devine led the Buccaneers to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018, the latter as the Southern Conference's first ever at-large bid
- She was twice named SoCon Coach of the Year and had 28 student-athletes earn all-conference honors during her tenure, including three Player of the Year, three Libero of the Year and two Freshmen of the Year award-winners
- Off the court, ETSU sported a 100-percent graduation rate under Devine and earned the AVCA Team Academic Award each of her last nine years, which requires at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average
