
Alabama Soccer Continues 2021 Season, Pairing with Texas Tech in Bossier City

The Tide will look to extend its winning streak after beating Lipscomb 1-0 on Sunday after an overtime thriller
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team is back on the road to face Texas Tech on Saturday, March 13, in Bossier City, La. The neutral-site pairing is scheduled for a for a 2:30 p.m. CT start in what will be the third meeting between the Tide and the Red Raiders in program history.
About Alabama
- Head coach Wes Hart is in the midst of his sixth season at Alabama and owns a career record of 50-48-13 entering Saturday's matchup.
- The team returned seven starters and 10 letterwinners from last season's roster that finished the 2020 slate with a record of 2-5-2.
- Earlier this fall, Alabama made its 13th appearance at the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Scouting Texas Tech
- The Red Raiders are just beginning their 2021 season and own a 1-0 record after shutting out the University of the Southwest (N.M) on March 5.
- Head coach Tom Stone is in his 14th season with the Red Raiders and owns a career record of 155-83-32. Stone is the only head coach to lead the Red Raiders to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
- Forward Kirsten Davis leads the team in goals and assists, earning two apiece for the 2021 season.
- Forward Gisselle Kozarski has tallied one goal and one assist this spring.
- Goalkeeper Madison White recorded her first shutout of the spring season.

- Alabama earned its fourth win of the 2021 season on the road this past Sunday, March 7th, thanks to a golden goal that was scored in the 2nd minute of overtime against Lipscomb.
- The Crimson Tide held the advantage in shots, firing 11 while the Bisons registered four.
- UA also maintained an advantage in corner kicks, earning seven compared to Lipscomb's three.
- Midfielder Reyna Reyes notched her second goal of the 2021 season, scoring the golden goal in overtime.
- Defender Bella Scaturro earned her second collegiate assist during Sunday's matchup.
- Goalkeeper McKinley Crone registered her fifth shutout for the 2020-21 season and recorded three saves in the contest. Thanks to her strong performance between the posts, Crone received SEC Defensive Player of the Week accolades on Monday.
Returning Firepower
- Two members of the 2020-21 Crimson Tide roster received postseason honors at the conclusion of the fall.
- Forward Riley Mattingly was named to the Second Team All-SEC while midfielder Felicia Knox was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
- Mattingly returned for the Tide's opening match of the spring but suffered a lower body injury that will likely keep her out for the remainder of the spring schedule.
- Knox, who scored two goals for the Tide back in the fall, returned to the pitch this spring.
- Midfielder Reyna Reyes got the call to practice with the Mexican Women's National Team camp earlier this month and earned her first cap with the full team during her most recent call-up.
- McKinley Crone, a transfer goalkeeper, leads Alabama in minutes played and has registered 59 saves across the 2020-21 season.
- Crone ranks fourth in the SEC with an average of 5.11 saves per game entering Saturday's matchup.
