
Women’s Golf Begins Spring Season at Moon Golf Invitational

The Crimson Tide will tee off Sunday morning for its first tournament of the spring slate
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 16th-ranked Alabama women's golf team will get its spring season underway Sunday in Melbourne, Fla., for the fourth annual Moon Golf Invitational. The event will be a three day, 54-hole tournament hosted by the University of Louisville at the Duran Golf Club.
The Duran Golf Club course will play as a par 72 at 6,383 yards. Eighteen holes will be played each day (7:30 a.m. CT shotgun Sunday-Tuesday) and an individual and team champion will be crowned Tuesday.
About Alabama
- The Crimson Tide finished the fall slate fifth at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate after placing eighth at The Ally and 10th at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational
- UA returns the bulk of the 2019-20 team that finished runner-up in three consecutive tournaments last fall
- Rookie Bendetta Moresco will be making her Crimson Tide debut this weekend after competing in the 2020 U.S. Women's Open
Conquering the Course
- Overall, 10 of the 18 teams in the field are ranked in the Top 25 in either the Golfweek or Golfstat.com Team Rankings including seven that are in the top 10
- Among the 18 participating teams are Arkansas, Auburn, Augusta, UCF, Coastal Carolina, Florida, FGCU, Florida State, Illinois, Louisville, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Virginia
Leading the Lineup
- The lineup this week will feature Kenzie Wright, Moresco, Emilie Øverås, Polly Mack and Caroline Curtis
