Alabama Volleyball Falls in Series Opener Friday to Arkansas, 3-0

The Crimson Tide and Razorbacks rematch Saturday at 4 p.m. CT
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alabama volleyball was within two points late in the third set at Arkansas Friday night, but a final push gave the Razorbacks the set win to complete the 3-0 match decision over the Crimson Tide.
Alabama (4-9) dropped the first set to Arkansas (9-4), 25-13, before taking its first lead of the match near the midpoint of the second set, with a solo block from Chaise Campbell putting the Crimson Tide ahead 11-10. The Razorbacks scored four unanswered to quickly take back the lead and they held on to win, 25-14. The third set was back-and-forth to start, with Arkansas only ahead by two at the media timeout, 15-13. Later with the home team up 19-17, the Razorbacks closed out the frame with a 6-2 run to win and cap the sweep.
Alyiah Wells led the team with nine kills and tied with Riley Fisbeck for a team-leading four blocks. Emily Janek was one dig shy of a double-double, finishing with nine digs and 14 assists.
