Alabama Men’s Golf Opens Spring Schedule at The Gators Invitational

The Crimson Tide ready to tee off the 2021 season on Friday afternoon
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team will tee off the 2021 spring season when it travels to Gainesville, Fla., to compete at the Gators Invitational.
About The Gators Invitational
- The event will be held Feb. 12-14 at the par 70, 6,701-yard course Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
- The three-day, 54-hole event will feature 21 total teams with 11 teams coming from the Southeastern Conference
- The Crimson Tide will be grouped with Washington and LSU through the first two rounds
- Alabama will tee off Friday's opening round at 12:20 p.m. CT (1:20 p.m. ET) off Hole No. 1, while going at 8:20 a.m. ET (7:20 a.m. CT) off Hole No. 10 for Saturday's second round

The Alabama Lineup
- Alabama's starting five include Wilson Furr, Thomas Ponder, Davis Shore, Canon Claycomb and JP Cave
- Simms Abney will also compete as an individual
- Both Claycomb and Furr were named to the Preseason Haskins Award Watch List, which was released Sept. 24, 2020

- "We're excited about going down to Florida to open the season. Florida has a really good team and it's their home golf course. There will be a lot of SEC teams but there are a lot of other teams competing as well. It will be our first time this entire year we are going against other teams. I'm looking forward to seeing how our guys handle it. Every time you play, you have an opportunity to get better. I like where we are and I am looking forward to getting in the van to head to Gainesville and finding out where the preparation is and more about our team."
