Reyes notched the game-winning goal in the team's upset over the nationally ranked Tigers, directing a header past the LSU goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the game. The UA midfielder took two shots and nearly missed scoring on the first attempt as she hit the crossbar. The goal was just the second of the year for Reyes, who notched the game-winning goal in the team's season opener against Jacksonville State. After Friday's performance, Reyes is tied for third on the team in goals (2) and points (5).

Reyes' goal clinched Alabama's first win over a top-25 team this season and its first win over a ranked opponent since beating No. 15 Auburn, 1-0, November 6, 2020. Alabama kept the No. 16 scoring offense in the country off the board and allowed just four shots on frame. Prior to Friday's game, LSU was averaging 2.9 goals per game and nine shots on goal a game. The Tigers were also averaging 19 total shots a game prior to Friday's meeting as the Tide held LSU to just nine attempts over 90 minutes of action.
The win was the team's fourth-consecutive victory at home and its seventh win overall at the Alabama Soccer Stadium this season. Reyes and the Crimson Tide will return to action Thursday, traveling to Fayetteville, Ark., to face No. 8 Arkansas.
