
Alabama Women’s Tennis Concludes Roberta Alison Fall Classic

Ansley Cheshire, Ola Pitak and Petra Sedlackova each won a singles match on the final day of competition
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team concluded the final day of the Roberta Alison Fall Classic Saturday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
Three Crimson Tide athletes recorded wins during the final day of competition as Ansley Cheshire, Ola Pitak and Petra Sedlackova won a singles match in straight sets.
Cheshire faced Virginia Tech's Michaela Hegarty in her final match of the day. The UA freshman flew through her opening set, 6-1, before following with a 6-1 decision in set two.
Pitak also posted mirroring set scores in her second match. She went 6-2, 6-2 to top Wisconsin's Taylor Cataldi.
After going undefeated in doubles on Friday, Sedlackova fought her way to victory against Ava Markham from Wisconsin. Sedlackova took the opening set 6-4, before battling to a 6-6 tie in set two. The UA freshman rallied to win the tiebreaker, 7-2, and clinch the match.
Alabama will conclude its fall competition at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, Calif., Nov. 4-7. Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh will represent the Tide at the event, as the two compete in the doubles draw at the national championship.
