Peyton Wilson Selected as SEC Baseball Freshman of the Week

Wilson put together a huge week despite playing in just three of the Tide's five matchups
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama baseball's Peyton Wilson was selected as the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. The SEC Freshman of the Week honor is the Crimson Tide's second of the year after Owen Diodati earned the recognition following Opening Weekend.

- Made three starts across the Crimson Tide's five games with one at catcher and two in center field
- Tied for second in the SEC in average (.571) and runs scored (8) while ranking third in hits (8) on the week
- Led all Alabama hitters in average and tied for the team lead in hits and doubles (2) during the five-game stretch
- Finished a perfect 4-for-4 against Middle Tennessee, adding four runs to join Diodati with a second four-run effort this season
- Led in runs scored (3) while tying for the team lead in hits (3) in the series opener with Harvard
