Alabama Women's Golf Closes Play Tied for Third at Florida State Match-Up

Three Crimson Tide players placed in the top 20 Sunday afternoon
PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The Alabama women's golf team finished strong with its best round of the weekend and finished tied for third with a team total of 914 (305-307-302) at the Florida State Match-Up on Sunday.
Improving its score from a windy Saturday at Bay Point Golf Club, the Crimson Tide secured its fifth straight top-four finish this season. The team ranked second in the 10-team field with 32 birdies on the difficult par-72, 6,290-yard Nicklaus Course.
The 13th-ranked LSU Tigers claimed the team title after carding a final round score of 6-over par 294 on Sunday to finish play with a 22-over par 886, 14 shots better than tournament host No. 24 Florida State (307-296-297/900). No. 40 Clemson (304-310-300/914) finished third along with Alabama.
A Look at the Alabama Lineup
- Freshman Emilie Øverås and junior Polly Mack both placed among the top-10 individuals and carded the Tide's lowest rounds on Sunday with even par 72.
- Øverås posted her best collegiate finish, as she finished tied for third place. The Alesund, Norway, native ended the tournament with a 9-over par 225 (78-75- 72) to collect the first top-five finish of her career.
- Mack tied for 10th place in the 56-player field at 12-over par 228 (73-83-72) and collected her second top-10 finish of the season.
- Senior Kenzie Wright tallied another top-20 finish, tying for 20th place at 15-over par 231 (78-73-80).
- In the two-day, 54-hole tournament, junior Angelica Moresco tied for 37th place (81-78-78/237).
- Freshman Caroline Curtis rounded out the UA golfers in 40th overall with a 238 (76-81-81).
- Playing as an individual, sophomore Carolina Caminoli finished tied for 49th (80-73-92/245).
