Alabama Set for Power of Pink Game Against Auburn

The Crimson Tide and Tigers will tipoff at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama is set to take on Auburn for the second time this season in the annual Power of Pink/Play4Kay game on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (13-10, 3-7 SEC) routed the Tigers (8-12, 2-7 SEC) on Jan. 12, 75-48, in Auburn Arena.
Last time out, the Tide fell on the road to No. 15/15 Kentucky 66-62 on Thursday night in Lexington, while the Tigers picked up a win over Vanderbilt on Sunday and had a bye on Thursday.
The matchup on Sunday is the 92nd between the two rivals. In their last meeting, Alabama defeated the Tigers on Auburn's home court 75-48 on Jan. 12, 2020. The win was Alabama's largest margin of victory against the Tigers in Auburn Arena and at the time, it was also the Crimson Tide's first win of the decade and the first in Southeastern Conference play. The Tide has not swept a season series against Auburn since 2002.

Opening Tip
- The Crimson Tide has played its best basketball on Sundays by compiling an 8-1 record on the year. All three of Alabama's conference wins have come on Sunday with victories over Auburn, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss.
- Junior Jasmine Walker is one of the best three-point shooters in the conference, as she fifth in the SEC in three-point makes (46), makes per game (2.0) and percentage (38.3). In conference play, Walker is averaging 2.4 three-point makes in 6.1 attempts per contest for a 39.3 clip. Walker leads the team in shots attempted (244), shots made (98), three-point makes (46) and three-point attempts (120). The Montgomery native also is tops on the team in rebounds per game with 6.9.
- Crimson Tide sophomore Megan Abrams has converted 20 of her last 21 free throw attempts, dating back to the South Carolina game on Jan. 5. Alabama is one of the best in the country at getting to the free throw line. The Crimson Tide is No. 27 in the nation in free throw attempts (453) and No. 27 in makes (317). UA is knocking down its attempts at a 70.0 percent clip which is good enough for fourth in the SEC.
- Redshirt junior Jordan Lewis became the program's 29th 1,000-point scorer on Jan. 20 at Tennessee. She currently has 1,050 career points. Lewis took over the No. 7 spot in career assists at Alabama last game against Kentucky. For the season, Lewis leads the team in points (12.6), assists (3.7) and is second in steals (1.2).
About Auburn
- In the first meeting against Alabama, the Tigers were without their second leading scorer in Daisa Alexander who puts up 13.9 points per game. Since Alexander's return from injury on Jan. 19 Auburn has picked up its two SEC wins.
- In addition to Alexander, AU is led by Unique Thompson who is averaging 17 points and 12.2 rebounds, while Brooke Moore is averaging 10.4 points each time out.
- Head Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy is in her eighth season as the coach at Auburn. She has a 132-113 record in her time with the Tigers and a 275-217 career record as a head coach. Last season, William-Flournoy led the Tigers to an NCAA Tournament appearance as a No. 10 seed.
