Alabama Returns Home for Matchup with Michigan State on Thursday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's tennis is back home after its California road trip, to compete against Michigan State on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT inside the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Indoor Tennis Facility. This is only the second-ever meeting between the Crimson Tide (6-0) and Spartans (2-3). The first meeting between the two sides was back in 1989.

Team Info

Alabama is a perfect 6-0 this season, while compiling a 4-0 mark at home.
Freshman Ares Teixido leads the Tide with a 6-0 singles record, while senior Alba Cortina Pou is second with a 5-0 mark. Cortina Pou was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career earlier today.
In doubles, freshman Isabella Harvison and junior Moka Ito came in at No. 56 in the latest Oracle/ITA rankings. The duo is 4-1 in dual match season at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.

Opponent Info

The Spartans have two wins against Eastern Michigan (Jan. 23) and versus Marquette (Feb. 1) on the season. Michigan State has already played one SEC foe this season after dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 3 Georgia on Jan. 25.
Last season, MSU finished 15-11, while going 6-5 in Big 10 play.
