Crimson Tide Heads to Lexington to Play No. 15/15 Kentucky

Alabama and Kentucky will matchup for the second time this season on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama is ready to play against No. 15/15 Kentucky for the second time this season when the two teams meet on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT in Memorial Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (13-9, 3-6 SEC) and Wildcats (17-4, 6-3 SEC) last met on Jan. 9 in Coleman Coliseum with UK coming out on top 81-71.
In the Tide's last game, Alabama held on for the 57-56 road victory against Ole Miss on Sunday, Feb. 2, while the Cats fell to unranked Florida without star Rhyne Howard who is sidelined with a wrist injury. Howard had a career-high 43 points in the first meeting against UA.
With its win in January against Alabama, UK extended its winning streak over the Tide to eight games. The last time the Crimson Tide defeated the Wildcats was in Lexington on Jan. 23, 2014, 57-55. Kentucky leads the overall series 32-17.

- Alabama is one of the best in the country at getting to the free throw line. The Crimson Tide is No. 26 in the nation in free throw attempts (439) and No. 22 in makes (308). UA is knocking down its attempts at a 70.2 percent clip which is good enough for fourth in the SEC. Crimson Tide sophomore Megan Abrams has converted 19 of her last 20 free throw attempts, dating back to the South Carolina game on Jan. 5.
- Redshirt junior Jordan Lewis is No. 24 on the all-time scoring list at Alabama with 1,045 career points. Lewis also took over the No. 8 spot in career assists at Alabama against Texas A&M on Jan. 23 and is just three away from moving up to No. 7. For the season, Lewis leads the team in points (12.9), assists (3.6) and is tied for first in steals (1.3).
- The Tide is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the SEC, coming in at fourth in the conference in attempts (450), makes (152), makes per game (6.9) and percentage (33.8). For the season, junior Jasmine Walker is fifth in the conference in three-point makes (43) and fifth in makes per game (1.95).
- The Alabama bench has outscored its opponents, 690-368 (31.4 avg. - 16.7 avg), in 22 games this season. The Tide reserves leads the SEC in total bench points and bench points per game. The bench has outscored opponents in 21 of 22 games so far this season. The reserves have accounted for 43.1 percent of the Tide's scoring, with senior Cierra Johnson (8.5) and sophomore De'Sha Benjamin (8.1) leading the bench.
About Kentucky
- The Wildcats are 1-1 in games without Howard who exited in the third quarter against Auburn on Jan. 27. UK defeated Missouri on the road on Jan. 30 and then fell at home to Florida on Sunday.
- In addition to Howard, the Cats have two different double-digit scorers with Chasity Patterson averaging 11 points per contest, while Sabrina Haines is putting in 10.6 points per game.
- Head Coach Matthew Mitchell is in his 13th season with UK while compiling a 295-129 record and a 328-158 career record. Mitchell has led the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament in nine of the last 10 seasons.
