Women's Basketball Set for Crucial Senior Day Game Versus Mizzou on Sunday

The Crimson Tide and Tigers will tipoff at 12:40 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama looks to keep its winning streak going when it welcomes in Missouri to Coleman Coliseum on Sunday, March 1 at 12:40 p.m. CT for Senior Day. The Crimson Tide (17-11, 7-8 SEC) has won its last three Southeastern Conference matchups, including two over top-15 opponents, while the Tigers (8-20, 5-10 SEC) have gone 2-3 in their last five contests.
The Tide made program history after defeating a top-15 opponent in back-to-back games for the first time ever with its 76-63 victory over No. 12/14 Texas A&M on Thursday night in College Station. In Mizzou's last game, the Tigers fell to Auburn at home, 95-82.
This is the 12th matchup between the two programs with Missouri leading the all-time series 7-4. The Tigers have won the last three meetings, including downing the Tide last year on Senior Day in Columbia, 82-47 on March 3. Alabama has only defeated Mizzou one time in Tuscaloosa, back on Feb. 12, 2015.

Opening Tip
- With its late-season push, the Crimson Tide is in the conversation to make the NCAA Tournament, which is a feat the program has not accomplished since the 1998-99 season. Currently, the Tide is projected as the "Next Four Out" according to ESPNw Bracketologist, Charlie Creme.
- With its two road wins over top-15 opponents over the last week, Alabama is now 2-4 against teams with an RPI between 1-25 and has jumped to No. 52 in RPI, while maintaining a strong strength of schedule which is 29th-toughest in the country.
- As the only team in the SEC with a 7-8 conference record this season, Alabama would be the No. 8 seed in the 2020 SEC Tournament if the season ended today. The tournament is set to begin on Wednesday, March 4 in Greenville, S.C. No matter what happens on Sunday, UA will be either the No. 8 or No. 9 seed and play against either Florida or Georgia in the second round of the tournament on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT on SEC Network. The winner of that game will matchup against No. 1 South Carolina on Friday, March 6 at 11 a.m. CT.
- Shelby Gibson, Cierra Johnson, Ashley Knight and Amber Richardson will be honored approximately 15 minutes prior to game time for Senior Day. Knight is the only four-year senior in the class. Knight and Johnson will graduate with degrees in criminal justice in May, while Richardson will graduate with her master's degree in sport business management. Gibson, who medically retired in February, will graduate with a degree in sport administration in May and plans to pursue her master's degree next year.
- The Crimson Tide has played its best basketball on Sundays by compiling a 10-2 record on the year. Five of its seven conference wins have come on Sunday.
- In her last three halves of basketball, Jasmine Walker has put in 44 points on 16-of-28 (57.1 percent) shooting, including going 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) from beyond the arc. The junior has scored in double figures in the last four games, while putting in 16.8 points and 7.8 rebounds over those contests. In three of those four games, Walker has come up one rebound shy from a double-double.
- Walker is one of the best three-point shooters in the conference and in Alabama history, as she fifth in the SEC in three-point makes (60) and in makes per game (2.1), she is also third in percentage (38.7).In the UA record books Walker is No. 7 in career three-point percentage with a 35.5 career mark, while coming in at No. 8 in single-season percentage. She leads the team in shots attempted (306), shots made (124), three-point makes and three-point attempts. The Montgomery native also is tops on the team in rebounds per game with 7.0.
- In her last four games, redshirt junior Jordan Lewis has showed out after averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists. She became the program's 29th 1,000-point scorer on Jan. 20 at Tennessee and currently has 1,130 career points which is No. 21 on Alabama's scoring list. Lewis took over the No. 7 spot in career assists at against Kentucky on Feb. 6. For the season, Lewis leads the team in points (13.2) and assists (3.9). On Tuesday, she was named the SEC Player of the Week.
About Missouri
- Missouri is 3-8 on the road this season, with all three wins coming in conference play.
- The Tigers are led by freshman Aijha Blackwell who is tops on the team with 14.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Mizzou has two other double-digit scorers in Hayley Frank who puts in 12.5 points per game, while Amber Smith is averaging 12.1 points each time out.
- Head Coach Robin Pingeton is finishing up her 10th season at Missouri while compiling a 179-139 record in her time in Columbia. Before this season, Pingeton had taken the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament four-straight years.
