GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 27 Alabama men's tennis dropped its road match to No. 6 Florida, 7-0, on Friday at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Fla. The Crimson Tide falls to 9-4 overall and 0-1 in Southeastern Conference play, while Gators move to 12-2 and 1-0 to start their SEC season.
Doubles
- Alabama started off doubles play strong when senior Edson Ortiz and freshman Marcelo Sepulveda Garza picked up a big win over No. 33 Ingildsen/Grant, 6-2. The Gators responded with two straight victories to take the 1-0 lead.
Singles
- Five out of six players in the Florida lineup are nationally ranked, as the Gators took all six singles matches.

- Alabama will look to bounce back on Sunday, March 1 at 12 p.m. CT against No. 23 South Carolina in Columbia.
