
Crimson Tide Finishes the Fall Fifth at Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic

Alabama moves up four spots in Sunday with the help of the second lowest round of the season
ATHENS, Ga. – The ninth-ranked Alabama women's golf team carded 2-under par 286, to catapult up four spots on the team leaderboard to place fifth at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic on Sunday. After starting the final round at the University of Georgia Golf Course in ninth place, the Crimson Tide made the late charge with the help of its second lowest round of the season.
Alabama was the largest mover in the field in the final day with rounds of 303, 291 and 286 to finish with an 880. In the process of moving up the leaderboard, the Crimson Tide passed No. 18 Mississippi State, No. 16 Texas A&M, No. 13 Kentucky, No. 2 Arkansas, No. 1 LSU, No. 40 Missouri and Georgia (B team). The seventh-ranked Auburn Tigers (293-281-290/864) finished first in the all-conference field.
Leading the Lineup
- Angelica Moresco picked up a top-10 finish in the individual standings with the help of a final round 2-under par 70.
- Her third-round score propelled a 54-hole score of 1-over par 217 as she moved up 11 spots to tenth on the leaderboard.
- Kenzie Wright earned her 10th top-20 finish after tying for 19th to end the tournament at 4-over par 220 (74-69-77).
- In only her second tournament, Michaela Morard turned in her first collegiate round at par or better at 1-under par 71 on Sunday. The rookie finished tied for 26th (79-73-71/223) overall.
- For the tournament, Moresco and Morard collected the second most birdies out of the 60-player field with 12 each.
- Polly Mack provided the fourth team score when she shot her low round of even-par 72 and finished the three-day tournament tied for 51st (78-78-72/228).
- Emilie Øverås fired off her best round of the tournament on the final day as well, with 1-over par 73, to conclude in 54th place (75-84-73/232).

Next Up
With the Crimson Tide wrapping up the fall slate of tournaments, Alabama will be back on the course to start the spring season in February. UA travels to Viera, Fla., for the Moon Golf Invitational with play starting on Feb. 14 and running through Feb. 16.
