
Alabama Falls in Weekend Finale to Fourth-Ranked Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alabama volleyball fell in its second matchup of the weekend against fourth-ranked Florida on Sunday, dropping straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-22.
Alabama took an early timeout in set one trailing 7-3 before fighting back to tie the score at 13-13. Florida jumped back ahead by as much as four points but back-to-back kills from Abby Marjama made it a one-point game late with the Gators calling a timeout up 19-18. Florida persevered to win the opener by four, 25-21. After 11 tie scores to start set two, a 5-0 run from the Gators put them ahead 15-11 at the media timeout en route to a 25-17 set win. Alabama fought within one point late in the third, but Florida ultimately completed the sweep with a 25-22 win in the set.
Abby Marjama paced the offense with 10 kills, leading the team for the third straight match while Kennedy Muckelroy and Kendyl Reaugh were close behind with eight each. Alyiah Wells was next in line with seven kills while adding a season-best three blocks on defense. Madelyn St. Germain finished with a season-best 15 digs and Riley Fisbeck was two digs shy of a double-double, posting 28 assist and eight digs.
