
Alabama Volleyball Falls to Missouri, 3-1, in Season Opener

The Crimson Tide and Tigers rematch Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After dropping the first two sets, Alabama defeated Missouri by eight points in the third set and fought past the 25-point mark in the fourth but ultimately fell, 3-1.
After hitting .188 and .091 in the first two sets, the Alabama (0-1, 0-1 SEC) offense found a rhythm against ninth-ranked Missouri (1-0, 1-0 SEC) with a .400 clip and a match-high 16 kills. The teams traded back-and-forth late in the fourth set, with the Tide staving off three Tiger set points before the visitors ultimately took the frame, 28-26, to win the match, 3-1.
Newcomers Kendyl Reaugh and Kennedy Muckelroy shined in their Crimson Tide debuts, leading the team with 16 and 15 kills, respectively, with Muckelroy boasting a .500 hitting percentage and four service aces. Fellow newcomer Madelyn St. Germain led the team with 13 digs as the libero, while senior Meghan Neelon was also in double digits with 10.
