Kenzie Wright Leads No. 24 Alabama in Season-Opening Round at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The No. 24-ranked Alabama women's golf team finished Monday's season-opening round of play at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in 10th overall after carding a team score of 7-over par 295 at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
The ANNIKA Intercollegiate boasts a strong field that features six of the nation's top-10 teams in addition to six top-25 teams in the Women's Golf Coaches Association Preseason Rankings. No. 9 Wake Forest sits at 6-under par 282, while No. 18 Arkansas is in second place at 5-under par 283.
A Look at the Alabama Line-Up
- Senior Kenzie Wright led the Tide and is currently tied for 10th individually at 1-under par 71. She carded six birdies, which is second among all golfers in the field. Wright is only four strokes off the individual lead of 5-under par 67, held by Wake Forrest's Rachel Kuehn.
- Junior Polly Mack recorded even par 72 an is tied for 15th in her first tournament for the Crimson Tide.
- Junior Angelica Moresco finished the day tied for 36th at 3-over par 75.
- Freshmen Caroline Curtis is in 53rd overall after carding a 5-over par 77 in her first collegiate 18 holes.
- Freshmen Emilie Øverås closed the front nine with an eagle on the par-5 No. 18 hole, making her one of six players in the field who carded an eagle in the opening round. Øverås is tied for 54th place at 6-over par 78 in her collegiate debut.
