Scouting Alabama
- Alabama is 8-1 through three weeks of play, with six of its eight wins coming in three sets
- The Crimson Tide makes its home debut Tuesday vs. Kennesaw State after playing its first nine matches away from Tuscaloosa
- Six of the eight victories this season have been sweeps, including the last three straight

Last Time Out: Blazer Invitational
- Alabama 3, UAB 0: Alabama (6-1) trailed in the first half of each set to UAB (3-4), fighting back to tie it at 17-17 in both the first and second sets and 15-15 in the third to eventually win a trio of lengthy battles by scores of 29-27, 25-18 and 30-28, respectively. Freshman Alyiah Wells continued her strong rookie campaign, leading the team with 12 kills and a .409 hitting percentage. She was one of three players with five blocks, joined by senior Hayley McSparin and sophomore Mylana Byrd.
- Alabama 3, Georgia State 0: Alabama won each set by an increasing margin, defeating Georgia State 25-22 in the opening frame before claiming 25-17 and 25-15 victories in the second and third, respectively. Graduate Eva Borrowdale was the offensive standout for the Crimson Tide, posting a season-best 11 kills and a .385 hitting percentage along with 10 digs for her first double-double. Wells tied her season high with six blocks with senior Ginger Perinar close behind with five.
- Alabama 3, Alcorn State 0: Alabama held the lead for the entire match, downing Alcorn State by set scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-14. The team's .405 hitting percentage is its highest since posting a .448 clip against Alabama State almost exactly five years ago on Sept. 13, 2014. Individually, junior Doris Carter led the offense with 12 kills, with her .450 hitting percentage bested only by redshirt junior Ashley Homan at .467. Carter also tied her career best with a team-leading three service aces.
Career Win No. 300 for Lindsey Devine
- Saturday's win over Alcorn State marked career win No. 300 for head coach Lindsey Devine
- She currently owns a 300-219 (.578) mark, posting a 292-218 record in 16 seasons at East Tennessee State and an 8-1 mark in her first season at the helm of the Crimson Tide
Finding a Home at Foster
Since moving back into a renovated Foster Auditorium in 2011, Alabama has compiled a 83-39 (.680) record on its home court. Seven of the previous eight seasons have seen double-digit win totals, including a program-best 12 in 2016. Attendance has surged since its move back to Foster Auditorium as well, welcoming over 12,000 fans in five of the last seven seasons after surpassing 10,000 just once prior to 2011.
