Alabama Swimming and Diving Once Again Among National Leaders in CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama swimming and diving ranked fifth among all NCAA Division I teams in terms of College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar-Americans with 30 it was announced Wednesday.
The Crimson Tide led the nation in terms of men's honors with 15 and was eighth among women's programs with 15. Alabama led the Southeastern Conference in both men's and overall honors.
The first team recognizes student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA Championships. Honorable mention goes to those with a 3.5 or better GPA who have achieved an NCAA "B" standard.
- On the men's side of the slate, Knox Auerbach, Laurent Bams, Sam DiSette, Robert Howard, Nicholas Perera and Zane Waddell were selected to the first team.
- Christian Arseneau, Michael Burris, Hunter Jaynes, Daniel Kober, Kyle Maas, Richard Miksi, Nico Perner, Ryan Ratliff and Tyler Sesvold earned honorable mention recognition.
- For the women, Kalia Antoniou, Sarah Helm, Justine Macfarlane, Kensey McMahon and Allie Surrency earned first team honors.
- Halia Bower, Cameron Brown, Alina Faunce, Leonie Kullmann, Morgan Liberto, Emma Murray, Kacey Oberlander, Alexis Preski, Kaila Wong and Ayanna Woods earned honorable-mention accolades.
- As a team, the Tide finished ninth among NCAA Division I women's squads with a 3.68 team GPA in the spring and was seventh among men's squads with a 3.53.
- Both the men and women were first in the Southeastern Conference by team GPA.
- The Tide women were the only SEC squad ranked in the top-15 nationally.
- The Tide men, which finished seventh at the 2019 NCAA Championships, were joined by Harvard as the only schools to finish in the top-10 at the national championships and in terms of team GPA.
- Alabama's women joined Stanford and Kansas as the only schools to finish in the top-10 by team GPA and score at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
