Alabama Posts Four Field Event Wins on Saturday

The Crimson Tide earned four wins at two different meets on Saturday
AUBURN, Ala. – The Alabama track and field team picked up three wins at the War Eagle Invitational and another at the Kansas Relays on Saturday, with all four coming in the field events.
After opening the outdoor season last week with a leap of 7-03.25, junior Shelby McEwen picked up his second win of the season on Saturday, with a jump of 7-04.25 (2.24m) at the War Eagle Invitational.
Senior Kiara Williams won the long jump with a leap of 20-07.75 (6.29m) in Auburn, while senior Stacey Destin and junior Abigail Kwarteng posted the top clearances of the day in the high jump invite with both going 5-10.5 (1.79m)
In the midwest, senior Kord Ferguson dominated the shot put at the Kansas Relays, winning the event with a throw of 63-6.25 (19.36m) a day after posting the meet's top collegiate throw in the discus.
In other action on the plains of Auburn, junior Symone Darius took second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.63. In the throws, senior Portious Warren took third in the women's discus with a toss of 173-02 (52.78m), freshman Chago Basso was third in the men's shot put with a throw of 58-08.75 (17.90m) and sophomore Nickolette Dunbar took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 52-08.25 (16.06m).
Sophomore Abigail Dickinson took sixth and sophomore Taylor Pickett was seventh in the pole vault, with Dickinson clearing 11-11.75 (3.65m) on her first attempt, while Picket went over the same height on her second try.
The Crimson Tide closes out the regular season next Saturday at the LSU Invitational.
