
Senior Night for Mazen Osama as No. 20 Alabama Hosts Arkansas in Regular Season Finale

The Crimson Tide will take on the 47th-ranked Razorbacks on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – As one of the most decorated Alabama tennis players in program history, senior Mazen Osama will be honored on Senior Night as No. 20 Alabama hosts No. 47 Arkansas on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
The Crimson Tide (14-9, 4-7 SEC) will look to build on its previous victory over No. 18 South Carolina last Sunday when it welcomes the Razorbacks (13-13, 2-11 SEC) tomorrow night. Along with Senior Night, Thursday night's match will serve as Bama Salute.
There will be a short presentation a few minutes before doubles play begins for Osama who has totaled 70 singles wins and 69 total doubles victories over his four-year career with the Tide. Last season, he became the first Singles All-American for Alabama since 2001 after his junior campaign in which he finished with the highest singles ranking in program history at No. 8 in the country. The Cairo, Egypt, native also became the first men's player to advance to the Round of 16 of the 2018 NCAA Singles Tournament and took it a step further by moving on to the quarterfinals. He was also named the ITA National Player to Watch for his performance.
In his career, he was a participant in three NCAA Doubles Tournaments, two NCAA Singles Tournaments, named First Team All-SEC on two separate occasions and named the ITA Southern Region Player to Watch twice.
In the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings Osama came in at No. 52 in singles, while he and doubles partner sophomore Patrick Kaukovalta are ranked No. 25 in the nation. The team moved up six spots to No. 20 in the country. The top 16 teams will host a regional in the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
Arkansas comes into the match with an 0-8 record in road matches. The Razorbacks are led in singles by No. 65 Oscar Mesquida who has five wins over nationally-ranked opponents at the No. 1 spot.
