So far this season, junior Alba Cortina Pou boasts a 10-1 record in singles, while senior Andie Daniell enters the weekend ranked No. 66 in singles, posting a 7-4 record. In doubles, juniors Kimberley Gintrand and Ann Selim raise a 10-3 record, all on court three.
Kentucky enters Friday's contest as the 18th-ranked team in the country and sports a 12-1 record. The Wildcats are on a seven-match win-streak, after topping Arkansas, 5-1, and Missouri, 4-1 last weekend. No. 46 Justina Mikulskyte is 7-2 in singles with each of her victories happening on court one. The Crimson Tide and Wildcats will square off for the 43rd time, as the Tide trails the all-time series 28-14.
Sunday's match will mark the 45th meeting between the two conference squads, as the No. 5 Vanderbilt leads the series, 27-17. In the last meeting, the Commodores edged the Crimson Tide, 4-0, March 4, 2018, in Nashville. Vanderbilt (7-3, 2-0) opened conference play with a 7-0 victory over Missouri and 6-1 win over Arkansas last weekend. Before the Commodores come to Tuscaloosa Sunday, Vanderbilt will face Auburn Friday.
Alabama and Alcorn State (2-13, 1-1 SWAC) have only competed against one common opponent this year, Alabama A&M. The Braves fell 3-4 to Alabama A&M, while the Crimson Tide swept the Bulldogs 7-0. Alcorn State reached the finals of the SWAC Championships last year and return four student-athletes from the championship roster.
