No. 14 Alabama Men’s Golf to Compete at Querencia Cabo Collegiate

Crimson Tide tees off second tournament of the spring season on Sunday
The No. 14 Alabama men's golf team will travel to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, this weekend to compete in the 2019 Querencia Cabo Collegiate. The event is co-hosted by the University of Houston and University of Arkansas and will be played at the Querencia Golf Club on the par-71 6,898-yard course.
This year's event will mark the first-ever appearance by the Crimson Tide and consist of 54 holes beginning on Sunday and concluding Tuesday. Sunday and Monday's rounds will have a shotgun start at 10 a.m. CT, with the final round beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m. CT. Live scoring throughout the tournament can be found on Golfstat.com.
Alabama's lineup for the weekend is led by sophomores Wilson Furr and Davis Shore. Furr and Shore both top the team in stroke average (72.13) and average vs. par (+0.88). Among the current UA roster, both Furr and Shore have been the team's top finish in each of the Tide's previous five tournaments dating back to last fall. Freshmen Frankie Capan III (72.69) and Prescott Butler (73.30) will also be competing for the Crimson Tide. Sophomore Jake DeZoort will make his college debut and complete the Tide's starting five.
The tournament consists of a 13-team field, 11 of which rank in the top-50 teams in the nation, according to Golfstat.com. In addition to No. 14 Alabama, four other teams rank in the top-15, including back-to-back tournament champions No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 9 Arizona State and No. 12 LSU. Other teams ranked in the top-50 nationally include No. 19 Texas A&M, No. 27 Florida State, No. 32 Arkansas, No. 36 Baylor, No. 48 Ole Miss and No. 50 Arizona, while Houston and Rice University round out the field.
