- Qualified for the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship, which marked his fourth U.S. Amateur appearance
- Became the second Crimson Tide men's golfer to capture U.S. Amateur medalist honors in program history, finishing stroke play with a 36-hole score of 11-under par 132 (70-62)
- Had a historic day during the second round of championship, recording 11 birdies to finish with a 9-under par 62
- Not only did the second-round performance seal the stroke play title, but it also set the Bandon Trails competitive course record and marked the second-best single round score in a U.S. Amateur and United States Golf Association (USGA) history

- Carded a 7-under par 277 (70-70-70-67) at the Mississippi State Amateur Championship to finish third overall
- Placed second at the U.S. Am Qualifier where he carded a 36-hole total of 9-under par 135 (66-69) to earn one of two automatic bids

- Carded a season-low of 7-under par 209 (72-68-69) to earn the two-stroke victory at Shoal Creek
- Had 16 rounds of par or better and 10 rounds in the 60s, both of which were team best marks
- Other top-10 results came with a sixth-place finish at the John Hayt Collegiate Championships and a 10th-place total at the U.S. Collegiate Championships, where he carded a 4-under par 212 (75-69-68) – his second-lowest 54-hole total of the season
- Undefeated in match play at the East Lake Cup, defeated Oklahoma State’s Austin Eckroat 2up and Auburn’s Jovan Rebula 3-and-2

- Tied for third at the NCAA Stockton Regional shooting a career-best 9-under par with a score of 207 (73-64-70)
- Tied for 10th at the SEC Championship shooting even par for the tournament (210, 73-63-74)
- Tied for seventh at the Mason Rudolph Championship, which was his first top-10 finish of his career as he finished with a total of 215 (70-73-72)
- One of Alabama’s two individual competitors in the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational
- Finished that event tied for 47th overall with a three-round total of 16-over par 232 (75-79-78).
Prep Highlights
- Ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the 2017 class according to Golfweek.com, No. 8 by Junior Golf Scoreboard and No. 15 by the Polo AJGA rankings
- One of six players named to the boys United States Junior Ryder Cup team in the summer of 2016
- Paired alongside current teammate Davis Shore during play at the Junior Ryder Cup where they won their foursome match against the Europeans
- In 2015, he became the youngest winner in the 100-year history of the Mississippi State Amateur, doing so at the age of 16 when he captured the crown by eight strokes with a 72-hole total of 14-under par 274, just two strokes off the tournament record
- Was named second-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2015 after being named honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American in 2014
- As a junior, he finished in the top-10 six times including a second-place finish at the 2015 Junior PGA Championship
- Also was named to the East Team for the Wyndham Cup.
