
No. 21 Alabama Prepares for Matchup with Auburn on Friday

The Crimson Tide and Tigers will play at 3 p.m. CT in Auburn, Ala.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 21-ranked Alabama men's tennis team will make the quick trip over to Auburn, Ala. to take on the Tigers (12-12, 0-6 SEC) at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m.
The Crimson Tide (12-6, 2-4 SEC) will look to get back on track after falling in four of its last five matches. Alabama leads the all-time series 61-33-1, while also defeating Auburn two times in 2018 by a score of 4-0.
Sophomore Jeremy Gschwendtner has dominated in his first season of eligibility with the Tide, compiling an 8-1 singles record and 5-0 mark in SEC play. No. 39 senior Mazen Osama is 10-7 on the season with five wins over nationally-ranked opponents at the No. 1 spot. In doubles, Osama and sophomore Patrick Kaukovalta are ranked No. 15 in the latest rankings with a 10-3 record.
Auburn comes into Friday's match looking for its first SEC win of the season. The Tigers most recently fell to No. 10 Mississippi State, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at home. Auburn is led by Tad Maclean who is tops on the team with two singles wins in conference play, while he and doubles partner Brandon Laubser also have two SEC doubles victories.
